At the end of January, Oak Class and their parents at Wenhaston Primary planted over 60 trees at St Peters Pightle. The trees, a mixture of Oaks, Chestnuts and Hazels had been transferred from the old tree nursery situated in the school playground. These had been planted by every Acorn class over the last 5 years and we discussed with pupils the importance of taking extra care of their roots and ensuring they are well covered with soil.
Planting in the school area at St Peters Pightle is now complete with mulching and weeding to continue throughout the year.
