We were delighted that no less than 39 new plants were recorded as well as some of those in the original list. Some of the new plants are from the wild flower seed that was sown in 2025, some from green hay that was spread on the field and some seem to have found their own way there! The total number of plant species recorded in the meadow now stands at 65. Not bad for a field that was barely stubble only eighteen months ago! In addition to the plants , animals have been finding their way there and at the Bioblitz we recorded 12 invertebrates (see the list below), a brown hare, a muntjac and a red-legged partridge.
If you would like to see the complete species lists as they stood on July 23rd 2026 download the file below.
We are always glad of wildlife records, please let us know if you see anything of interest in any of the areas we manage, Grove Piece, Malsters Little Field, Vicarage Grove and St Peter’s Pightle. Contact Us.
